The city of Reims, the heart of Champagne.
Some of the many Champagne Houses.
The many caves of the Champagne Houses.
The 're carved into solid Chalk and go down 60 feet.
The one on the bottom far right was originally a pit excavated
by the 1st century Romans for building material.
Later they were expanded by the local monks for wine storage.
The most famous is Dom Pérignon.
